Get to Know: Pattypan Squash
Spotted this unique squash at the market but aren’t sure what it is? Pattypan Squash is recognizable for its unique shape, and its name is derived from a French word referring to a scalloped cake mold.

Pattypans come in yellow, green and white varieties and have a tender, sweet flesh that can be used just like any other squash. You can also scoop out the interior of a Pattypan and use the remaining shell as a vessel in which to cook other foods. Pattypan is a good source of Vitamins A and C, niacin and magnesium.

Meet Your Farmers: Snowville Creamery
The Worthington Farmer’s Market is pleased to welcome Snowville Creamery to our 2009 lineup of Ohio farmers. Snowville brings their delicious selection of sustainably farmed milks and creams to the market each week from their farm in Pomeroy, Ohio.

You can drink Snowville products with pride, knowing that they come from a herd of pasture-raised cows that is lovingly tended in a manner that respects the animals, soil, plants and water quality of the farm. Plus you’re supporting a return to Ohio’s family farming tradition and enjoying milk that was freshly produced and packaged close to home. It goes without saying that milk made with this care in the old-fashioned way -- not homogenized so the cream rises to the top – makes for truly delicious milk. On your next trip to the market, stop by Snowville Creamery for a sample and pick up some milk to take home!
