We're in the
News!
The
October 22 issue of Worthington's ThisWeek Community Newspaper features
an article on everybody's favorite Farmer's Market. Check it
out here
Also, Sharon Perez (Farmers Market Friends chairperson) and Jan Staats (Market Master) will be on Daytime Columbus with Gail Hogan on NBC 4 at 11:00 am, Wednesday, Nov. 26 talking about the Winter Market and Fresh Food in Central Ohio
Want
to Help Out the Market?
If
you love the Olde Worthington Winter Farmers Market, why not volunteer
a small amount of your time to help keep its presence in
Worthington? Sometimes when we hear the word “volunteer” we
tend
to visualize ourselves getting in over our head in addition to the
already busy lives we lead. What you might not realize is
that
just contributing a couple hours here and there helps the Market
tremendously. We especially need help with market set up,
tear
down, and clean up. Just a few extra hands will help keep the
Market open and accessible throughout the winter. So please
sign
up for a shift; you’ll be glad you gave back to the Market and you’ll
be surprised by how little time it takes away from your
schedule.
If this unique opportunity interests you, please contact Lisa
Staggenborg at lstag@columbus.rr.com or 436-9931 and sign up to become
a
Friend of the Olde Worthington Farmers Market.

Olde Worthington
Farmers Market Sports New Look
The
snazzy Olde Worthington Farmers Market
logo at the top of our newsletter was designed by Worthington graphic
designer, Laura Ross.
According
to Jan Staats, market master, “The logo Ms. Ross designed captured
everything we wanted – an association with the downtown and a depiction
of fresh products all wrapped in a wholesome and friendly look.”
The
new logo is a result of a juried competition sponsored by the Olde
Worthington Farmers Market Friends, a volunteer organization formed to
support the farmers market through educational outreach and service
programs.
Sharon
Perez, chair for the market friends, added, “All of the entries
received were high quality and very professional. Worthington
is
blessed with a very talented arts community.”
Ms.
Ross moved to Worthington three years ago with her husband and two
children. She previously worked in advertising, specializing
in
package design.
